Deputy Patrick Matata Makalamba supported the Minister of Higher Education's decision to suspend academic activities in Goma and Bukavu following the AFC/M23's appointment of members to management committees. He described this rebellion in the academic field as clumsy and stated that measures are being taken to reorient displaced students. The suspension was decided on August 20, after the AFC/M23 appointed facilitators in several institutions.
