Italy extradites Chinese cyber-espionage suspect to US

Italy has extradited Xu Zewei, a Chinese hacker accused of stealing vaccine research during the COVID-19 pandemic. Arrested in Milan last July, he is suspected of conducting cyberattacks against universities and other institutions involved in COVID research. Xu, 34, appeared in the US District Court in Houston, facing nine criminal counts, including wire fraud and conspiracy to obtain information by unauthorized access to protected computers.
