‘It’s fake’: Wike slams Peter Obi’s display of modesty

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike called Peter Obi’s displays of modesty “fake,” criticizing the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate. Speaking to Rivers State youths on Tuesday ahead of the 2027 elections, Wike pointed to Obi celebrating birthdays at camps for internally displaced people and buying roasted corn by the roadside. He said Obi did not behave this way during his eight years as governor of Anambra State. Wike alleged the gestures were a political strategy to win votes in the coming presidential election.
