Ituri: Ebola response team attacked in Rwampara, doctor abducted then freed

On June 9, 2026, in the Tséré groupement of Rwampara health zone (Ituri), an Ebola surveillance team investigating a suspected case was attacked by villagers armed with machetes and stones. The doctor responsible for sampling was tied up, sequestered, and threatened with death before being rescued by security forces.
