Ituri: FARDC Launch Operation Against CRP After Attack on Mining Site in Nyampala

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) launched a military operation against the armed group Convention for the Popular Revolution (CRP) in the Djugu territory of Ituri following an attack on a mining site in Nyampala. Twenty-five individuals, including six Chinese nationals and four soldiers, were kidnapped during this attack. The operation targets CRP positions in the areas of Nyampala, Liko, and Luna, with heavy gunfire reported. MONUSCO has also increased its patrols to protect civilians.
