Ituri: thousands flee to UN mission in Rhoo after recent violent clashes

Over 3,100 civilians, including nearly 1,600 women and 900 children, sought refuge at MONUSCO's temporary base in Rhoo, Djugu territory, following renewed clashes between armed groups CRP and CODECO that began on September 27. The violence caused panic, prompting civilians to move closer to the UN mission for safety, under the protection of Bangladeshi Blue Helmets. MONUSCO also provided medical assistance to nine injured or distressed individuals and increased security measures in the area.
