Ivory Coast: 1,000 People Targeted by Free Colorectal Cancer Screening Campaign

On April 1, 2026, the Ministry of Health launched a free colorectal cancer screening campaign at the CNRAO in Abidjan, targeting 1,000 individuals aged 50 and older. This initiative is part of 'Blue March', a month dedicated to raising awareness about colorectal cancer, which ranks as the fifth most common cancer in Ivory Coast. Professor Judith Kouko-Coulibaly emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis to improve treatment success, as 90% of cases can be effectively treated if detected early.
