Ivory Coast: Aziz Thiam, Tidjane Thiam’s older brother, faces 17 charges

Ivorian prosecutors have charged Aziz Thiam, PDCI-RDA vice-president, with 17 counts and placed him under judicial supervision after he appeared before the anti-terrorism section of the Abidjan court of first instance. The alleged offenses are linked to tensions surrounding the 2025 presidential election. Fabrice Lago, deputy secretary-general of the PPA-CI, was also placed under judicial supervision on October 23 over similar allegations; the charges do not amount to a finding of guilt.
