Ivory Coast: Brother kills his sibling with a machete over latex harvest

A family conflict in Sahuyé, Gomon sub-prefecture, resulted in the death of young rubber planter A.M., killed by his older brother A.D. during a dispute over latex harvesting from a family plantation. A.D. accused A.M. of harvesting latex without permission, within a land division among 32 children. During the fight, A.D. used a machete, inflicting deep wounds on A.M., who died before reaching Sikensi hospital, likely due to hemorrhage. A.D. voluntarily surrendered to police the following night, and an investigation has been launched.
