Ivory Coast: Two Setbacks and a First Dilemma Three Days Before Hervé Renard’s Squad Announcement

Three days before announcing his second squad, Ivory Coast coach Hervé Renard is dealing with Ghislain Konan’s confirmed injury and uncertainty over Amad Diallo. The Manchester United winger came off in the 76th minute against Chelsea after suffering muscle pain; no diagnosis or recovery timeline has been announced. Konan, who injured his knee in training with Wolverhampton, is expected to be out for about eight weeks. Ivory Coast, with six points and no goals conceded in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, are set to face Gambia twice.
