Ivory Coast: 'Zero Tolerance' and Self-Control, the New Motto to Save Lives at Easter

The Ministry of Transport launched the 39th edition of the National Road Safety Week at the 'Gbêba' bus station in Adjamé, calling for individual responsibility to save lives on the roads. Despite a 19% decrease in deaths between 2021 and 2025, 1,307 fatalities were recorded last year, and 164 people have already died in 2026. Authorities emphasize the importance of self-control and are tightening road safety measures, including checks and a points-based driving license.
