Seven arraigned over abduction of Amotekun operatives and gun theft in Ogun State

Seven men appeared before the Ilaro Magistrate Court in Ogun State on six charges, including unlawful possession of firearms, abducting two Amotekun operatives and stealing a locally made gun valued at 150,000 naira. The alleged incidents took place on October 14 and 15, 2026, in Owode-Afon, where the defendants were also accused of invading an Amotekun outpost and firing into the air. Their pleas were not taken; Magistrate F.A. Ojelade ordered them remanded for 60 days, noting that the court lacked jurisdiction over the abduction charges. The case was adjourned until January 15, 2027.
