World Cotton Day: Crossroads of Trade and Transformation Discussions – La Nouvelle Tribune

World Cotton Day is celebrated annually on October 7, with the 2026 edition held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on October 7-8. The theme for this year is 'Cotton in the service of the common good: building prosperity through trade, transformation, and partnerships.' Representatives from governments, international organizations, the private sector, and financial institutions engaged in dialogues and plenary sessions on the cotton value chain, quality, traceability, investment, and innovation. Benin’s ambassador, Angelo Dan, participated in these activities, which continued on October 8 with technical visits to textile processing facilities, a research institute, and an experimental field.
