The ASUU chapter at the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) resumed its strike on Monday, accusing the government of failing to honour agreements that led to the suspension of the action on July 21, 2026. Chapter chairman Dr Patrick Ushie said implementation deadlines had been missed and the government had not responded to the union’s notices. ASUU said it would not suspend the strike again until its grievances were addressed. Its demands include improved salary and welfare benefits, payment of outstanding wages and union dues, and increased university funding.
