An agreement brokered by Mines Minister Louis Watum Kabamba provides for PAJECLEM to make two mining blocks available to the COMIKAN cooperative, allowing artisanal mining to resume at Mulondo in Mutshatsha territory. Operations had been suspended for more than a year after panic triggered a trench collapse that killed around 30 people in November 2025. PAJECLEM will retain its rights over the rest of the site, while authorities have urged the parties to respect the designated areas and safety rules.
