Jailed Senegal fans deny wrongdoing in AFCON final chaos in Morocco

Eighteen Senegalese football supporters convicted for a pitch invasion during the Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat in January have denied any wrongdoing. A Moroccan court sentenced them in February to prison terms ranging from three to 12 months for hooliganism. The Senegalese argued they were forced onto the pitch due to the surging crowd, not to protest a refereeing decision. Senegal's Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko condemned the court's decision.
