JAMB warns universities against issuing admission letters

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) warned Nigerian universities that they are not authorised to issue official admission letters. Registrar Professor Segun Aina made the statement during a visit by a delegation from Veritas University, stressing that JAMB alone can issue such letters for all tertiary institutions. Federal Ministry of Education directives require admissions to be processed through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), and procedures that bypass it are illegal and invalid. Only admissions accepted through CAPS are recognised, including for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation.
