James Swan reaffirms MONUSCO's support to Bunia amid security and health crises

UN Special Representative James Swan stated that Ituri province remains a strategic priority for MONUSCO amid security and health challenges. He mentioned the deployment of mobile bases and rapid response units to address insecurity caused by armed groups, especially ADF, and praised the strengthened cooperation with FARDC. On the health front, MONUSCO is supporting Ebola response efforts by providing logistical support, facilitating health team mobility, and securing high-risk zones. After visiting Bunia, Swan returned to Kinshasa.
