JIBWIS condemns calls to kill non-Muslims

JIBWIS condemned calls for violence against non-Muslims in Plateau and Enugu States and distanced itself from a viral video in which people allegedly urged attacks with AK-47 rifles. The group’s National Publicity Secretary, Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Ashiru, said from its headquarters in Jos that the video’s authenticity had not been confirmed, but JIBWIS would not support calls to attack or kill anyone. He warned that remarks promoting violence could heighten tensions amid banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and Boko Haram attacks. Ashiru urged security agencies to verify the video, identify those involved and ensure anyone responsible faces the law after an investigation.
