Jigawa ADC suspends chieftain for 12 months over alleged anti-party activities

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State suspended chieftain Aliyu Muhammad Tukur Gantsa for 12 months over alleged anti-party activities and breaches of party discipline. The ward executive approved the decision on October 5 and the local government committee endorsed it on October 16, 2026, after Gantsa publicly supported Adamu Jumbo, who lost the party primary to Sabo Nakudu. During the suspension, Gantsa is barred from party meetings and rallies and from representing the ADC in public or media engagements, though he may appeal within 14 days. He was recently released after being abducted alongside another ADC chieftain, Abba Anas Adamu, who reportedly died in captivity.
