Jigawa govt announces funeral arrangements for late Gumel Emir

The Jigawa State Government announced that the funeral prayer for the late Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani II, is scheduled for 5 pm today, Friday, September 3, 2026, at the Emir’s Palace in Gumel. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday afternoon in Cairo, Egypt, where he had been receiving medical treatment. The government urged the public to attend the funeral prayer and called on Imams of Jumu’ah mosques to offer special prayers for the repose of the deceased's soul.
