Jobs, electricity and sanitation top Western Cape voters’ election concerns

Western Cape residents put jobs, better municipal services and improved quality of life at the forefront of the November 4, 2026, elections. In Kraaifontein, Themba Ntozana voted to call for better services and more local jobs, while 19-year-old Ayema Chitula cast her first ballot hoping for positive change. In Khayelitsha, Lukhanyo Damoyi, who has lived in Monwabisi Park since 1997, called for reliable electricity, decent sanitation and an end to the bucket toilet system.
