Jordan FA chief says AFC Congress was ‘pure politics’ at Infantino’s behest

Prince Ali bin Hussein, head of the Jordan Football Association, accused Gianni Infantino of turning the Asian Football Confederation’s extraordinary congress in Tokyo into a political event ahead of Infantino’s bid for a fourth term as FIFA president. On Friday, AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa said Asia was united behind Infantino’s re-election. Prince Ali said attendees were not allowed to speak, debate or talk to the media, and condemned a lack of transparency and the use of coercion, threats or bribes.
