Henry Ibya, the Benue State correspondent for Aljazirah Newspaper, was arraigned at the High Court in Makurdi over alleged cyberstalking. His lawyer, Tom Uja, sought bail, arguing that Ibya had always attended court when required and had already faced the same charge in two other courts in the state. Justice Mary Abounu granted bail despite the prosecutor’s absence and adjourned the case until November 5, 2026. Terna Abuul, the ICT director at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, had reported Ibya to police after a news report accused him of mismanagement in the department.
