Judge imposes £100,000 bail condition on Rwanda genocide accused

Vincent Brown, formerly Dr. Vincent Bajinya, 65, accused of being a leader or supervisor of violent acts during the 1994 Rwanda genocide, must pay a £100,000 guarantee to be released. He is the first person in the UK charged over the genocide, which resulted in approximately 800,000 deaths. Brown, from Islington, faces strict bail conditions including electronic monitoring and a curfew, and will remain in custody until the security is paid. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on October 9.
