Judicial liquidation for shoe brand André after 130 years of existence

The Paris economic activities court ordered the judicial liquidation of the André brand, founded in 1896 in Nancy, which now employs only 30 people. The company faced challenges from the downturn in the mid-range ready-to-wear market, impacted by Covid-19, the Ukraine war, and fierce competition from fast fashion and second-hand markets. It could not withstand issues with its landlord and failed negotiations with Westfield, leading to its closure after 130 years.
