Data centers: Yaoundé Declaration targets local hosting of 100% of critical public data by 2030

Adopted on October 17, 2026, at the end of the E-Gov’A exhibition, the Yaoundé Declaration on e-governance and artificial intelligence in Africa urges African states to aim to host all classified critical or sovereign public data within their own borders by 2030. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot has officially condemned the politico-military alliance. The press review also reports Le Phare’s questions about the European Union’s initial silence and EcoNews’s analysis of the “legitimate violence” invoked by Kabila’s camp.

2027: Oborevwori banks on 13th-month pay to win workers’ support

In Asaba, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori tied a 13th-month salary payment to civil servants’ support for the APC in the 2027 general elections, saying they had no choice but to vote for the party. He said workers, public servants and political appointees would receive double their regular salary in December. At the inauguration of the APC campaign council, he unveiled “MORE Plus” as his re-election campaign theme and urged members to mobilise voters for Bola Tinubu, himself and other party candidates. Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo and former governor Ifeanyi Okowa also urged the party to promote its record and persuade voters.
