Just in: Gbajabiamila sues PFIPC DG Adeyemi for N15bn over alleged defamation

The Chief of Staff to the Nigerian President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has filed a N15 billion defamation suit against Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew at the FCT High Court in Abuja. Gbajabiamila is seeking N10 billion in general damages, N5 billion in aggravated damages, N200 million in legal costs, and an order for a full retraction and apology in five national newspapers. He denies ever meeting or communicating with Matthew, or authorizing anyone to demand or receive money on his behalf, and refutes allegations that he demanded a 48% kickback from a N27.3 billion grant.
