Kinshasa: Fire Destroys Several Shops and a Church in Ngaliema

A fire destroyed several shops, terraces, and a church on Avenue de l’École near Kifwa stop in Ngaliema, Kinshasa, on Friday morning. No casualties have been reported, and the fire is believed to have started from an electrical short circuit, possibly caused by illegal or makeshift wiring. Local residents and church members tried to extinguish the flames with improvised means, but no authorities had arrived at the scene at the time. The extent of the material damage is still unknown.
