Kaduna attack: IGP Disu deploys DIG, kidnapped victims rescued

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, directed Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations), DIG Shehu Umar Nadada, to deploy to Kaduna following an attack in Ariko Village. On April 5, 2026, armed bandits attacked churches, killing five people and abducting approximately fourteen others. During the operation, seven kidnapped victims were rescued and are in stable condition at Katari Hospital. The IGP stated that operations continue to secure the release of the remaining victims and apprehend those responsible.
