Kaduna Denies N2.3 Trillion APC Campaign Spending Claim, Cites Forgery

The Kaduna State Government called a viral letter claiming that Governor Uba Sani released N2.3 trillion for the APC presidential campaign flag-off fraudulent. Information and Culture Commissioner Ahmed Maiyaki cited inconsistencies, including the misspelling “Uba Sai” and an apparently unauthorised reproduction of the governor’s signature, and noted that Kaduna’s 2026 budget is N985.92 billion. Maiyaki said no such amount was budgeted, approved or released, and described the claim as an attempt to discredit the governor ahead of the 2027 general elections. The government is working to establish the letter’s origin and has urged investigative agencies to examine it.
