Governor Uba Sani announced that Kaduna State is the only sub-national in Nigeria to have integrated mental health into primary and secondary health systems. He disclosed that 100 healthcare workers from 10 general hospitals have been certified under the WHO's mhGAP program, and mental health screening is now part of maternal and child health services. The initiative extends services to all general hospitals and primary care facilities across 23 Local Government Areas, creating a human rights-focused, evidence-based, decentralized model of care.
