Kaduna-Kano Rail Line Set for December 3 Inauguration, APC Says

The APC Presidential Campaign Council said the Kaduna-Kano standard-gauge railway will be inaugurated on December 3, 2026. The 203-kilometre Kaduna-Zaria-Kano project is about 90% complete, while the 400-kilometre Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway has reached 70% completion. A federal delegation led by Transportation Ministry Permanent Secretary Funso Adebiyi inspected the works and conducted a train test run from Jaji to Kano. President Bola Tinubu has ordered outstanding land acquisition and compensation issues in Kaduna to be resolved quickly to help complete the Abuja-Kano rail corridor.
