Kagame labels US sanctions on Rwanda 'insults'

Rwandan President Paul Kagame described US sanctions as 'insults thrown in the face' of Rwanda, stating that Washington is exerting heavy pressure on Kigali while treating the Democratic Republic of Congo delicately. The sanctions, announced in early March, target the Rwandan army for its support of the M23 group, which has captured several cities in eastern DRC. Kagame emphasized that Rwanda is fulfilling its obligations, unlike the DRC.
