Kalehe: Clashes Resume Between RFN and FARDC/Wazalendo in Bitale

Heavy clashes resumed on the afternoon of November 8, 2026, in Bitale, in Kalehe territory, South Kivu. Local sources say the FARDC, allied with the Wazalendo, are trying to retake the village after the RFN captured Bitale and Kalonge the previous day. Residents in Bulambika, about 17 kilometers away, are reportedly fearful, while fighting has displaced people from Bitale toward Bulambika, Hombo, and Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
