The Kano State High Court ordered Hajara Sani, Hayatullah Armayau and Jibin Ado to remain in custody over the alleged kidnapping and killing of Aliyu Haidar, a boy from Rano. The defendants pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and culpable homicide. Prosecutors allege that Sani, who worked at the boy’s family home, abducted him and took him to the other two defendants, and that the trio demanded a ransom of N2 million. The boy was allegedly killed after the ransom was not paid; witness hearings are scheduled to begin on December 4, 2026.
