Kano court sentences two men to death for killing employer

The Kano State High Court sentenced Adamu Aliyu, 22, and Mubarak Abdulsalam, 20, to death by hanging for killing their employer, Dahiru Musa, 32. Justice Fatima Adamu ruled that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt; the men poisoned Musa with rat poison, stabbed him and burned his body to conceal the crime. Sadiq Sunusi, 19, was sentenced to seven years in prison for helping burn the body and failing to report the crime. The convicts have 90 days to appeal.

The lawsuit, filed in November 2025, seeks $3 million for harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress; Pinkett Smith denies the allegations and calls them false and uncorroborated.
