Kano to establish more military bases in bandit-prone LGAs

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf announced that the Federal Government has agreed to establish new military bases in areas prone to banditry. During a meeting on September 5, 2026, it was agreed that these bases would strengthen the state's security architecture. Additionally, contracts worth N27.8 billion for the establishment of Computer-Based Test and ICT centers in the 44 LGAs have been awarded.
