A wandering hippopotamus was killed on October 2nd by a hunter in Kazumba territory, Kasaï-Central, after being caught in a trap in an agricultural area. The animal had left its natural habitat to end up in this zone where rice and maize are cultivated. This incident occurred less than a week after an elephant was seen wandering in the same region, causing one death and seriously injuring another person.
