Kasaï-Oriental: 7,500 bags of maize flour received in Mbuji-Mayi as residents call for affordable sales for low-income households

Unloading of 7,500 bags of maize flour began on Friday, October 23, in Mbuji-Mayi, amid a shortage on the local market. Supervised by a delegation from the Ministry of National Economy, the shipment is to be taken to the Mua Nsumbu depot in Bobila before being sold at several locations across the city. Residents are calling for fair sales and measures to prevent bulk purchases from shutting low-income households out of access to the flour. The sales locations, prices and official launch date have not yet been announced.
