Kebbi Assembly elects Dangoje as new speaker

Alhaji Salihu Maikasuwa-Dangoje, representing Sakaba Constituency, was elected Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly on June 3, 2026. The election followed the death of former Speaker Alhaji Mohammed Usman-Zuru on April 7 in Cairo. His nomination was moved by Alhaji Adamu Birnin-Yauri and seconded by Alhaji Lawal Haruna, leading to a unanimous vote. In his acceptance speech, Dangoje pledged inclusive, transparent leadership and prioritized people-oriented laws to support good governance.
