Kefas extends Karim Lamido’s special security status by six months

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas extended Karim Lamido’s designation as an area of special security concern for six months after a deadly attack on Binari community. At a State Security Council meeting, he directed agencies to account for missing people, identify victims and bring those responsible to justice, as investigators examine the attackers’ movements and possible motives. Kefas called for a coordinated security framework to protect Binari and neighbouring communities and urged traditional rulers, youths and farmers to provide credible information. He said the designation would be accompanied by infrastructure and development interventions to support affected communities.
