KeNHA Advances Works on Maralal-Suyani-Baragoi Road Amid Security Concerns

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has increased inspections along the Maralal–Suyani–Baragoi (A4) Road amid ongoing security concerns. The latest check on October 1, 2026, focused on the Suyani/Morijo–Baragoi section, assessing construction materials, compaction, drainage, and earthworks to ensure engineering standards are met. The route has been associated with security incidents, including an attack in August 2026 and an ambush in February 2025, prompting government efforts to improve infrastructure for better security response and market access. President William Ruto launched a 30-kilometer section of the road in November 2025 to enhance safety and connectivity.
