Kenya: a temporary amnesty for irregular Burundians

Kenya has granted a temporary amnesty to irregular Burundians following a surge in their numbers outside their embassy in Nairobi. This situation was worsened by the government's decision to close foreign-owned small businesses without work permits, leading to threats and harassment against Burundians. Approximately 16,000 Burundians live in Kenya, many of whom engage in small commercial activities.
