Kenya: At Least 24 Dead in Bus-Truck Collision

At least 24 people were killed and around 20 injured on Sunday when a bus and a truck collided on the highway between Nairobi and Mombasa. The bus passengers were returning to Mombasa after attending their pastor’s funeral in western Kenya. A survivor said the truck may have hit the bus from behind after attempting to overtake it, causing it to overturn; the exact circumstances remain under investigation. Injured passengers were treated at Mtito Andei hospital, and this was the second fatal crash on the route in three weeks.
