Kenya: Govt Clarifies Kuwait Has Not Imposed New Ban On Kenyan Workers

The Kenyan government dismissed reports that Kuwait has imposed a new ban on Kenyan workers. Labour Principal Secretary Shadrack Mwadime clarified that recent announcements by Kuwaiti authorities do not constitute fresh restrictions, but rather reflect the existing regulatory framework. Kenya voluntarily suspended the deployment of domestic workers to Kuwait nearly a decade ago, and that position remains unchanged. Ongoing consultations aim to establish a bilateral framework to regulate the domestic labor sector.
