Kenya: Hospitals Risk Sha Lockout As Current Contracts Expire Wednesday

Healthcare providers across Kenya risk being locked out of the Social Health Authority (SHA) system from Thursday if they fail to complete the contracting process for the 2026-2029 cycle. The current contracts will expire on September 30, 2026, at 11:59 p.m., and facilities without signed new contracts will no longer be allowed to serve SHA beneficiaries from October 1. The SHA has urged providers to finalize their contracts before this deadline to prevent disruptions for patients undergoing ongoing treatments.
