Kenya: How Kenya Lost Sh3.2bn in Abrupt Fuel Deal Cancellation

Managing Director Angeline Maangi disclosed before the Senate that Oryx secured fuel supplies at the government's request, only for the Ministry of Energy to cancel the deal at the last minute. Despite the approval of 60,000 metric tonnes of fuel, the government canceled the contract on March 31, resulting in a $25 million loss for the company. The Senate is investigating the circumstances surrounding this cancellation.
