Kenya Met Lists Nairobi Among Counties Set for Rains Over Next Five Days

The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority (KMSA) forecasts moderate to heavy rains across several counties from September 26 to September 30, 2026. Light showers are expected in the coastal region, including Mombasa, Kwale, Lamu, and Kilifi, as well as in eastern counties like Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni. Nairobi will experience lighter rains mainly during the night on Sunday and Monday, with other regions such as the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria also affected. Cooler night temperatures are expected in various areas, with Nyandarua potentially dropping to between 5°C and 9°C.
