Kenya Power cuts supplier late payment penalties to Sh290m

Kenya Power reduced late payment interest charges by nearly a quarter to Sh290.3 million for the year ending June 2026, aided by an improved working capital position with surplus funds after short-term debt repayment. The company had incurred Sh382.7 million in penalties the previous year, indicating a 24.1% decrease. This improvement reflects better financial management and increased liquidity.
